It’s Not About Luck, But Attitude

Its Not About Luck
As the year draws to a close, many people hope for a better ending – a bit of good luck, perhaps, or a sudden change of fortune. But, a blessed end of the year has little to do with luck and everything to do with attitude. The Bible shows us that there are three essential characteristics that shape the lives of those who want to see transformation in their financial life.

  1. An Excellent Spirit

The spirit of a man will sustain him in sickness, but who can bear a broken spirit?” (Proverbs 18:14)

Your spirit— your inner attitude is what keeps you going when your financial situation gets tough. Many people believe that the solution lies in changing jobs, switching careers or start again in a new city. However, lasting change begins within.

When your spirit is strong, you make wise financial decisions, stay calm under pressure, and face problems with confidence and faith. But when your spirit is weak, you lose confidence, give up too soon, and allow fear to guide your choices.

The Bible describes Daniel as having an excellent spirit (Daniel 6:3) and Caleb as someone with a different spirit (Numbers 14:24). That inner strength is what set them apart. People with a strong spirit can face loss, setbacks or financial hardship and still say, “God is with me.” They don’t let negativity take over. They stay focused, positive, and faithful—qualities that attract prosperity.

If you feel drained or discouraged, ask God for a new spirit. David prayed, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10) God can strengthen your spirit, renew your energy, and give you the courage to rebuild your financial life from the inside out.

  1. Perseverance

The second characteristic to finishing the year well is not giving up, even when your financial situation seems stuck. When the Israelites marched around the walls of Jericho (Joshua 6) God could have brought those walls down instantly, instead, He made them march seven times, to teach them perseverance.

Many people give up just before their financial breakthrough. They stop saving, lose motivation in their business, or abandon their goals because results do not come quickly. But God often works in silence. Stay consistent in what you are doing.  Each lap around your “wall” is a step of faith. Keep going, keep praying, keep believing and you will see your walls fall at the right time.

  1. Faith

Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Then he prayed again, and the heavens gave rain. (James 5:17-18)

Faith is the fuel that drives your financial transformation. It’s believing even when there’s no sign of change. The worst thing anyone can do is doubt God, especially in tough times.

In the book of Ezekiel Chapter 37, God showed the prophet a valley of dry bones and asked, “Can these bones live?” Ezekiel replied, “Lord, you know.” Then God told him to prophesy—to speak life and as he did, the bones came together and came alive. That’s faith in action: speaking life when everything seems dead.

Elijah was an ordinary man, yet when he prayed, heaven responded. Likewise, there are financial situations in your life that will only change when you pray and believe.

Don’t wait for luck to turn your finances around. Choose the right attitude. Strengthen your spirit, persevere through challenges, and keep your faith alive.
