Food Bank Grand Opening in the Universal Church in Liverpool

LVP food bank

Opened over a year ago the Universal Church in Liverpool was happy to welcome members of the public to the grand opening of the Food Bank last week Saturday.

The event brought together the community to support those facing food insecurity, ensuring that they have access to nutritious meals. This initiative aims to address hunger and promote well-being in the local area. Our Food Bank will be open to the public every Saturday from 11am-1pm.

We would like to thank all those who volunteered in making the grand opening possible and many more Food Bank sessions to come.

Pastor Renato, who oversees the church in Liverpool commented: “The grand opening of the Food Bank held recently in Liverpool was indeed a blessing. This special event assisted more than 65 individuals in need and about 100 food parcels were given out. The attendees benefited from a large variety of perishables and non-perishable foods that were made available for free and they also had hot pizzas and drinks served to them while waiting for the grand ceremony.

Everyone left the Food Bank satisfied with the support offered and for the love and care from all the volunteers.”

We have a number of Food Banks and Soup Kitchens that operate throughout the UK, on average our Food banks welcome 50-60 people per Saturday, per location, that’s well over 200 people per week benefitting from this project.

As we continue to expand we are sure that many more families are going to be able to take advantage of this initiative.
