What is So Good About Good Friday?

Good Friday isn’t just another date on the Christian calendar. It’s the day that reminds us of the extraordinary love and sacrifice of the Lord Jesus.

In the hours before His crucifixion, Jesus’ sweat became like drops of blood (Luke 22:44). Imagine the fear, the pain, and the weight of knowing what was coming. Yet, He faced it all. What seemed like defeat became the greatest victory. The Cross, once a symbol of suffering, transformed into a symbol of hope, salvation, and new beginnings.

Having faith in Jesus doesn’t mean life will always be easy. But it does mean He walks with us through every struggle, giving strength when we feel weak, guidance when we feel lost, and peace when life feels overwhelming.

Throughout the Bible, every miracle Jesus performed required faith. People didn’t wait; they went to Him, reached out, and believed.

This Good Friday, 3rd April at 3pm, families are invited to join us at your local Universal Church for ‘Family at the Foot of the Cross.’ It is a special opportunity to gather your loved ones and bring your worries, hopes, and prayers before God.

What Do You Want For Your Family?

Through faith, you can lay down the weight you’ve been carrying, and Good Friday reminds us that no situation is beyond hope. With God, a new chapter can begin for everyone who believes.

With that in mind, whatever is happening in your life right now, you don’t have to face it alone. On this day, hundreds of people across the UK will be coming together in Universal Churches with one shared purpose: to seek God’s blessing over their homes and families. It will be the greatest cry out for our families.

Take a moment to reflect on what your family truly needs. Is it peace at home? Restored relationships? Protection? Spiritual strength? Perhaps you’re praying for the salvation of someone you love. Whatever it may be, this is your opportunity to bring it before God.

We invite you to join us at the foot of the Cross — the place of forgiveness, restoration, and new beginnings. It’s where hope is renewed and where a different story can begin.

No matter your background or beliefs, everyone is welcome. Bring your family, invite your friends, including anyone searching for guidance. Sometimes one small step of faith is all it takes to transform your home and your life.

“Through Faith, My Son Turned His Life Around”

I did all I could as a mother, but my son still drifted into the wrong crowd. It broke my heart, but I refused to give up. The meetings helped me stay strong and approach things with more wisdom. I prayed and remained hopeful, and over time I began to see changes in him. After 8 years, he rebuilt his life. Today he’s a pastor, and our family enjoys peace again.

“And in you all the families of the earth
shall be blessed.” (Genesis 12:3)

It's Not Magic, It's Faith!

As part of the day, bishops and pastors have consecrated olive oil, and each attendee will receive a small complimentary bottle*. Consecration simply means setting something apart from ordinary use and dedicating it to a higher purpose. What makes this even more meaningful is that the oil was blessed in the Garden of Gethsemane in Israel — the very place where Jesus surrendered His will and overcame.

When families use this blessed oil in prayer to anoint their homes and loved ones, it’s not about the oil itself; it’s about putting faith into action and trusting that, just as Jesus overcame, you too can overcome the challenges in your life.

The practice of anointing with oil has existed for thousands of years. This simple action of faith can be seen as a point of contact between you and God, almost like a sign to Him that you require special attention in a time of need. For many people, God is abstract and so they struggle to materialise their faith. The Blessed Oil, which is something tangible, can help their faith in Him to be “real.” Although the oil itself has no power, the action of faith could provoke the extraordinary to happen inside of a person — it can awaken their faith!  This is the secret: FAITH + ACTION = RESULTS. In this case, the action is using the oil for a specific purpose, and faith is believing God at His word. Put your faith to the test! Receive your FREE BOTTLE* OF BLESSED  OIL on Friday, 03td  April at 3pm,  at your local Universal Church.

The oil was blessed and consecrated to God in prayer by the bishops and pastors of the Universal Church in the Garden of Gethsemane. The small bottles distributed will contain a small amount of the blessed oil, mixed with olive oil.

Gethsemane means “oil press”, the place where Jesus faced the greatest pressure of His earthly life. Just as olives are crushed to release their finest oil, He too was pressed — yet He surrendered to God’s will and overcame. That is why bishops and pastors from across the world gathered in Gethsemane to consecrate this oil, determining that just as the Lord Jesus triumphed in His hardest moments, those who use their faith and trust in God will also overcome.
