Deadly challenge: influencer dies after consuming numerous bottles of alcoholic beverage

Deadly challenge

The Chinese digital influencer Wang – known as Sanqiange or Brother Three Thousand – died at age 34, after a live broadcast on a famous digital platform.

His death was the cause of several bottles of high alcohol consumption, as a result of a competition between several influencers.

On social networks, countless young people compete with each other in order to receive prizes from the public. In these challenges, whoever loses must fulfil a punishment.

Wang is said to have broadcast his “penalty” live, which ended around 1 am. He was found lifeless by his family at 1pm the next day.

Despite examples like this on social networks, the number of people who submit themselves to dangerous situations grows without precedent. In some cases, this occurs due to the search for attention.

From a spiritual point of view, harmful behaviour in wanting the attention of others reveals the void in the soul that only God can fill. Just as human beings are not able to live without water, we are not able to live far from the Author of Life.

As much as your physical life is supplied by goods, status or relationships, if God is not in it, the emptiness of the soul will remain.

Being filled by God means having all your needs met – internal and external – in addition to becoming a source of peace, love and joy to all those around you: “…but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” (John 4:14).

This space inside you was made to be filled especially by God, and this is possible through the baptism with the Holy Spirit. Find out how to have Him in your life by participating in the Sunday morning of empowerment at your local Universal Church at 10am (also at 7.30am).
