A common mistake people make is believing that the possession of material goods and riches demonstrates God’s favour and that poverty is a sign of lack of faith or His displeasure.
On the contrary, the Most High has never despised those whom the world considers miserable, incapable or weak, they are precisely the ones chosen by Him to prove His promises and enjoy His Kingdom.
“And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules” (2 Timothy 2:5 NKJV)
And this predilection of the Lord can be explained: the poor and oppressed have nothing to cling to, so they find it easier to turn to Him in search of refuge for their soul.
Those favoured by the world, most of the time, place their trust in their riches, which becomes an obstacle to their Salvation.
Yes, of course, the Lord Jesus promised those who believe a full and abundant life.
In this way, those who are considered less privileged, when they apply their faith in the Word of God and exercise it in obedience, achieve their right as heirs of the Most High and become rich from the inside out.
With this being said, if you once considered yourself small, poor and disadvantaged among so many, rejoice, you’re a chosen one! Decide to believe, use your faith and achieve the abundant and eternal life He promises!
Last Wednesday, the Night of the Chosen took place in all our Universal Churches. It was an opportunity for all to claim the promise of God – His Spirit.
The Word of God makes it clear that we won’t receive a new life because we deserve it, this privilege is accessible to all who approach Him in faith, following sincere repentance:
“for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” (Acts 1:5 NKJV)
