In today’s world, when people feel unwell or notice unusual symptoms, their first instinct is often to search the internet and use tools like ChatGPT for quick answers. However, while technology can provide helpful information and sometimes reassurance, it cannot replace the expertise of a trained doctor.
Medical professionals invest years studying and practising medicine to understand the human body, diagnose illnesses and prescribe appropriate treatments. Relying solely on technology instead of seeking professional advice can even be dangerous. A study reported by Live Science found that when scientists asked ChatGPT 3.5 to assess 150 case studies, the AI tool provided a correct diagnosis only 49% of the time.
Therefore, if you have health concerns, consulting your GP or a specialist should always be your top priority. It’s also essential to recognise that health involves both the body and the spirit. While doctors focus on the physical aspects of health, faith can offer encouragement and inner peace during the recovery process.
The Bible reminds us in Jeremiah 30:17, “For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds,” says the Lord.” In the same way as artificial intelligence, faith shouldn’t replace medical care, but it can work hand-in-hand with it, giving us the inner resilience needed to face challenges and trust in God’s power to restore us.
That’s why the Universal Church holds special Health Day services every Tuesday, where we come together in prayer asking for God’s intervention and renewal. If you or someone you care about is struggling, we invite you to join us at your nearest Universal Church.
Let your faith be the complement to your treatment and discover the peace that comes from placing your burdens in God’s hands. We are currently taking part in the 7 Tuesdays of the Lord’s Prayer. Click here for more info.
