Be careful with what you see

remember important things, the perfect opportunity,

Be careful with what you see

Today’s the third week of the thought-provoking series: The 5 Entry Doors for Evil, where each week we’re learning the danger our senses can have towards our faith if they’re not attended to.

The first week we learned about the danger of what we hear through our ears and last week we learned about the danger in what we see with our eyes.

Our eyes are said to be the windows of our soul, and rightly so! Everything that we see with our eyes is captured inside of our mind just like a camera captures a picture. But since our eyes are far more impressive, once we see something we can’t un-see it!

This is great when we need to remember important things, but what about the times we wish we could un-see something we saw? Will it really have much of an impact on our soul?

Well, let’s take a look at what the Lord Jesus said once:

The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!” (Matt. 6:22-23)

Although time has the power of erasing some of the things we see throughout the years, some images will have such an impact on us that can linger with us for years to come. If we saw something bad and didn’t discard it right away, it will bear a bad seed.

In last week’s meeting, we learned that we have to be careful with things our eyes see, especially nowadays, where inappropriate content is available 24/7, even without our consent. One little thing we see can completely change our view on something. Therefore, if we want to be pure inside, and maintain a clean conscience, and please God, we’re going to have to put effort into filtering what we allow to reach our eyes.

If you recognise you’ve allowed certain things that are not good inside of you, you’re invited to take part of the Lord’s Supper today to be cleansed from within. This is the perfect opportunity to make yourself right with God if you have opened this entryway. You will have a chance to start over, this time being extra cautious to protect what is eternal: your soul.

Remember that no matter what mistakes you have made, as long as you’re alive, you have the chance to repent if you choose and receive eternal life. Don’t miss it as you’ll also learn what the 3rd Entry Door for Evil is.
