Have you ever reached that point of thirst where your whole body cries out for a sip of water and nothing else would do? Now imagine feeling that same thirst—not in your body, but in your soul.
It’s something many of us experience at one point or another. Life can wear us down. Whether, that may be pressures at work, relationship struggles, unfulfilled dreams, sometimes it’s not just tiredness we feel, it’s a deep emptiness and a longing for something more.
There is a powerful moment in the Bible that speaks directly to this kind of thirst. In the Gospel of John, we read that Jesus stood up during a feast and cried out:
“If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:37-38)
Jesus wasn’t talking about a physical thirst. He was speaking to the weary, the broken-hearted, the distant. And He’s still calling out today. He sees the weight you are carrying. The doubts you do not say out loud, the prayers you have whispered when no one is around. He knows and He is inviting you to come to Him—not with perfection, but by fully surrendering your life.
Right now, many are taking part in the 21-Days Fast of Daniel, where we are separating ourselves from secular distractions. No news, no social media, no entertainment. Why? Because we are choosing to give our full attention to God, with the aim of receiving something far greater: the Holy Spirit—God Himself dwelling within us.
When we truly seek Him, He promises to respond by baptising you with His Spirit. When this happens, you don’t just feel better—you become a new person. You become a fountain of life, peace, and strength not only for yourself, but for those around you. That’s what Jesus meant by “rivers of living water.”
But it starts with a choice. Jesus says:
“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters…” (Isaiah 55:1)
