A Warm Welcome Awaits You at Our New Woolwich Food Bank

Food Bank
This Saturday, 31st January, marks a very special day for our Woolwich community as we officially open the doors of the UCKG Food Bank. It’s the start of something we have been preparing with great care, and we are excited to welcome everyone from 11am.

The food bank has been carefully organised and will be fully stocked, ready to support individuals and families in the area. From the moment people arrive, they will be welcomed by friendly volunteers who are there to help in a respectful, supportive and non-judgemental way. Our aim is simple: to ensure everyone feels comfortable, valued and cared for.

The Woolwich Food Bank, like all UCKG foodbanks across the UK, exists to provide practical help when it’s needed most. We understand that everyone’s circumstances are different, and behind every need is someone facing real challenges. Sometimes access to food, a friendly conversation, or a few words of encouragement can make a big difference.

Pastor Phillipe Biral, who oversees the Woolwich branch shares: “Looking ahead, our vision is to support hundreds of families in the near future. This Saturday represents our very first step towards that goal, and although it is the beginning, it is already a moment worth celebrating. We are filled with excitement, gratitude and great expectation as we open our doors and begin serving the local community.”

The food bank will be open every Saturday from 11am to 1pm. If you or someone you know lives in Woolwich, you are very welcome to visit.
