Rain does not consult anyone before it falls. It does not follow opinions, systems or human control. It simply comes and yet the earth depends on it. Without rain, there is no growth, no harvest and no life.
This mirrors a deeper spiritual reality: while everything in creation depends on God, God Himself depends on no one. Yet, many live contrary to this principle, placing their confidence in others — waiting for help, approval or opportunities that may never materialise. When those expectations are not met, disappointment quickly sets in.
Relying on people inevitably leads to frustration. Human beings change their minds, fall short, and at times, let us down. The more we depend on others, the heavier the emotional burden becomes, often resulting in exhaustion, discouragement, and a sense of helplessness. In contrast, faith in God offers a far more secure foundation.
God remains the same regardless of circumstances. He does not break His promises or abandon those who trust in Him. When we depend on God, we build our lives on a foundation that cannot be shaken — one that brings peace, confidence and strength.
With this understanding, the Universal Church continues the Chain of Prayer: ‘Seven Fridays of Spiritual Cleansing with the 7 Blessed Waters.’ Bring a bottle of water with you, and during the service, you will receive a drop of consecrated rainwater. This may then be used as an act of faith for those who wish to stop relying on people and depend exclusively on God.
You are warmly invited to join us this Friday, 30th January, at a Universal Church near you. If you seek a fresh start, spiritual renewal, and freedom from dependence, this is an opportunity to take that step of faith.
