4 Lessons We Can Learn from Noah to Overcome Life’s Storms

Storm

The Bible recounts the story of Noah, who faced and overcame one of the greatest storms in history: the flood. Although Noah was neither a naval engineer nor a carpenter, he successfully built a remarkably strong ark that saved him and his family. This demonstrates that when we obey God, we receive His wisdom and direction to overcome challenges. Here are some important lessons we can draw from Noah’s story:

1 – Don’t listen to negative words

While Noah was building the ark, people mocked him. Fortunately, he ignored the mockery and remained steadfast, listening to God’s directions. When pursuing a goal, many may doubt your efforts by stating, “It won’t work” or “you are not capable.” If you want to succeed, avoid these negative voices and focus solely on the guidance of the Creator.

2 – Keep your heart clean

God instructed Noah to cover the ark with pitch, both inside and out, to prevent water from entering and causing it to sink. This teaches us the importance of shielding our minds and hearts from negativity, such as doubts, sadness or resentment. If we fail to do this, our lives may also sink under pressure.

3 – Learn to wait

Noah spent 100 years building the ark and did not stop until God commanded him to do so. This highlights the significance of patience, as God knows the right time to bless you.

4 – Look to God

God instructed Noah to place a window at the top of the ark, which was intentional. The window was positioned high so that Noah and his family could continually look up at Him during the storm. If we focus solely on our circumstances, we may become discouraged, sad, and doubtful. Therefore, we must learn to keep our eyes fixed on God, regardless of how overwhelming the storm may be.
