Salt has many different purposes, but have you ever thought about using it to purify your life?
Spiritual Purification has been practiced for thousands of years as a method to rid the mind, body, and soul of negative energies, blockages, and disturbances that affect our daily lives. This purification process aims to uproot all forms of negativity from a person’s life.
The Bible states a notable example of this in 2 Kings 2:19-21:
Then the men of the city said to Elisha, “Please notice, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees; but the water is bad, and the ground barren.”
The waters of Jericho became unfit for consumption, damaging the soil for plantation. The men in the city were at a loss and could not see a way out of this situation. To solve the problem, Elisha said:
“…Bring me a new bowl, and put salt in it.” So they brought it to him. Then he went out to the source of the water, and cast in the salt there, and said, “Thus says the Lord: ‘I have healed this water; from it there shall be no more death or barrenness.”
Prophet Elisha cast a portion of salt into the water and it was cleansed. The salt used by Elisha was not responsible for the miracle, but it was the power of God. When the word of God is put into practice, it has the ability to cleanse a person’s life. By obeying God’s direction, everything within a person is purified and cleansed bringing about tangible results.
Life can bring many challenges—whether in our families, love lives, careers, finances, or other areas—that leave us feeling lost, angry, confused, fearful, and without direction. These feelings can spiral into increased stress, anger issues, harmful habits, low self-esteem, and more.
