There are moments in life when circumstances we are going through can make the future feel painfully predictable.
A relationship breaks down, debt keeps growing, a family falls apart, a negative habit seems stronger than your desire to break it… Perhaps you have tried your best, but nothing appears to change. After a while, it becomes easy to look at the situation in front of you and assume that this is simply how the story ends.
But what if there’s more ahead than you can see right now?
Think of a book. If you stopped reading at its darkest chapter, you might believe everything was lost. You would know the pain, the conflict and the uncertainty, but not what came next. You would be judging the whole story from a page that was never meant to be the last one.
Life can feel much the same. We often draw conclusions based only on what we can see at that moment: “There is no way out.” “I will never change.” “My family will never be restored.” “I have gone too far.” “Nothing good can come from this.” Yet faith invites us to look beyond what is immediately before us.
The Bible says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1). Faith doesn’t pretend that problems are not real, nor does it ask us to ignore pain or difficulty. It simply refuses to accept that the situation in front of us has to determine what comes next.
Many people have faith but they don’t know how to put it into practice. Perhaps that’s the case for you. You may believe in God, pray and hope for change, yet still struggle to see the results in your everyday life.
At the Universal Church, our weekly meetings are designed to help you learn how to put your faith into action. Through Bible-based teaching and prayer, you can seek God’s direction and learn how to take the necessary steps to make progress in different areas—whether you are facing problems in your family, finances, health, relationships or spiritual life.
Perhaps you don’t see yourself as a “person of faith” at all. Maybe you have doubts, have been disappointed before or simply cannot imagine how God could make a difference in what you are facing. This invitation certainly extends to you as well. When the approaches you have already tried haven’t brought the change you hoped for, there’s nothing to lose by trying something different.
