Who was on board the Titan submarine?

The United States Coast Guard confirmed the tragic deaths of the crew members who were aboard the submarine Titan, which had the objective of taking a tourist tour among the wreckage of the Titanic ship. The enormous pressure of seawater caused the submarine to implode. Thus, experts consider that the deaths were instantaneous.

Through social networks, people, in general, were surprised by the lack of safety that the submarine clearly presented. To begin with, the shape of the hull with a tail contrasted with the traditional spherical shape used by submarines that travel in such deep waters (which influences the relationship of water pressure against the submarine).

Another detail that was widely discussed was the video game controller used to drive the vessel. Perhaps, the main question about this tragedy is the fact that the crew were experienced and financially wealthy men, but even so, they decided to go ahead on an extremely risky trip, at a price of 250 thousand dollars per person.

The tourists were Hamish Harding, president of the private jet company Action Aviation, Shahzada Dawood, Pakistani vice president of conglomerate Engro Corporation, who were accompanied by their son, Suleman. The technical team consisted of Paul-Henry Nargeolet, a French diver, and Stockton Rush, CEO of OceanGate Expeditions.

It is a curious fact that, in 1912, the Titanic experienced a tragedy in that region and 111 years later (with all current technology and knowledge) human error has unfortunately repeated itself (now, with the submarine Titan). Human beings tend to believe that they can outrun the risks of something bad happening. It’s that old story: “This will never happen to me”. And, in the spiritual sense, it is no different.

In general, people think: “I’m not going to die now” or “When I’m close to death I’ll find a way to make it right with God”. However, this chance may never happen. We are fragile, life is like smoke, according to the Bible: …”For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.” (James 4:14).

Get close to God while there is still time, seek His presence, understand what His desires are for your life and obey Him since He always knows what is best for us all.
