Who Doesn’t Love Good News?

Monday of Good News
A message of approval, a phone call you’ve been waiting for, an email that finally says “yes,” or a letter that arrives saying “approved”—it can completely change your mood in a moment. We all know that feeling, whether it’s exam results, a job application, a visa approval, a financial breakthrough, business success, or simply any positive outcome after a long period of uncertainty or delay.

When the good news finally comes, the feeling is amazing. Relief, excitement, gratitude, tears and sometimes even disbelief. It feels like everything has fallen into place.

But the reality is, life is not always like that.

There are times when we find ourselves in the waiting period. No updates. No responses. No “good news” in sight. Just silence. And in those moments, it’s very easy to feel restless, discouraged, frustrated or even tempted to give up altogether. You start to wonder if things will ever change.

But waiting does not mean nothing is happening. The Bible gives us a powerful reminder of this: “Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth.” (Luke 1:26)

And the message he brought was life-changing: “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favour with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.” (Luke 1:30–31).

Mary was not expecting such news. In fact, from a natural point of view, her situation didn’t suggest anything extraordinary was about to happen. But in that “sixth month,” everything changed. What looked like an ordinary time became the moment she received the greatest news of her life — she would carry the Saviour.

The real challenge for many people is not only the waiting itself, but how they respond while they wait. We are often faced with a choice: to lose hope or to keep believing, to stop moving forward or to remain faithful in what we are doing. Faith is not simply wishful thinking; it is continued trust even when nothing looks different yet. When faith is combined with action and persistence, it creates the conditions for change to happen.

So, if you find yourself in a season of waiting, do not assume your story is finished or that nothing will change.

If you would like to strengthen your faith and stand in agreement with others who are also believing for change, you are invited to attend the “Prosperity with God” meeting on 1st June for the Monday of ‘Good News’ at your nearest Universal Church. It is a time to pray, refocus, and believe that indeed the good news will come.
