Last Wednesday, churches across the UK took part in a special evening called the ‘Night of the Trumpet,’ held in all Universal Churches. It was a study focused on what the Bible says about the signs leading up to the return of the Lord Jesus, and what those signs mean for us today.
Throughout the evening, it was emphasised that world events such as earthquakes and tragedies should not be seen as breaking news or random occurrences. Instead, they were presented as reminders that encourage us to pause, reflect and consider our spiritual lives and relationship with God.
One of the key teachings came from Joel 2:1: “Blow the trumpet in Zion.” Zion was explained not only as a physical place but also as a symbol of God’s presence throughout the Bible. Therefore, the sounding of the trumpet in Zion represents a message coming directly from God. It is not a minor or casual warning, but an urgent call for people to pay attention.
The message was clear: God is calling people to wake up spiritually while there is still time to respond.
To reinforce this point, the story of Noah was highlighted. Before the flood came, Noah spent many years warning people of what was to come. In the same way, God continues to warn humanity today, not to frighten people, but to give them the opportunity to change direction, turn back to Him and find salvation.
The message reminded everyone that each person has a choice. We can either listen to God’s voice or ignore what He is saying. The question is: which will you choose?
