The Night Angels initiative in Camden

Night Angels Last Tuesday the volunteers of the Universal Church in Finsbury Park headed to the streets of Camden, to carry out the project of the Night Angels.

This included the distribution of hot drinks, water, sandwiches and cold meals to those who were found sleeping rough.

Praying for homeless

The volunteers not only offered these essentials to those who were in need but they also gladly offered prayer and a friendly chat.

Homelessness is a prevalent issue in the UK and those who are victims of this can sometimes be the most despised in society. Research from Shelter shows at least 271,000 people who have been recorded as homeless in England alone

EvangelizingThis is why the work of this group of volunteers is so necessary, to combat the hunger of those who are sleeping rough as well as offering spiritual support.

Aneeka, one of the volunteers explained, “There are people who just appreciate the fact that we are there and that they know where to turn to when they need support”.
