In the Bible we see a moment of conversation between God and the prophet Ezekiel, who was shown a valley of dry bones.
Whenever the people of Israel allowed a wedge to be driven between them and God, they would end up destroyed, held captive and enslaved by their enemies. It had happened many times before whilst God gave them chance after chance to return to Him. The vision He gave Ezekiel demonstrates God’s mercifulness.
The dry bones symbolized the people of Israel, who in that time were saying: “Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!” (Ezekiel 37:11).
God asked Ezekiel if those dry bones could be restored and brought back to life – “Son of man, can these bones live?”, to which Ezekiel responded: “Oh Lord God, You know.”
God ordered Ezekiel to prophesy and tell the dry bones to hear the word of the Lord and to continue reciting what God had ordered him to. The bones came together, even the flesh and skin of the bodies were restored and after that He gave them the breath of life.
In that vision, Ezekiel noticed that the Spirit of God caused a great restauration of the people of Israel through the prophecy of His Word.
Perhaps, your life is like this valley and the areas of your life like these dry bones. Dry, lifeless, without hope, with ongoing issues in your health, financial life, love life or family.
Like many people in life, you may be surviving rather than living a flourishing life, you are just going through the motions but not enjoying any of it.
Just as God restored the people back then, we believe He wants to do the same for you and your family.
‘I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken it and performed it,” says the Lord.’ (Ezekiel 37:14)
