Stay active to boost your mental wellbeing

Wellbeing

I’m sure you’ve heard this before: “exercise makes us feel better”! Research has shown that an active lifestyle promotes mental and emotional wellbeing as well as physical.

This is due to the chemicals that are released in the brain when you exercise, which increase feelings of happiness, relaxation and reduce anxiety. Just 5 minutes of cardio can better your mood!

Regular exercise also improves your energy levels, sleep, immune system and encourages healthy aging. Furthermore, regular exercise may make you feel more confident about yourself and your appearance.

This doesn’t have to be a vigorous workout, simply going for a walk can have these positive effects.

If you don’t already incorporate exercise as a part of your routine, you can start small. Your body and mind will thank you later for it!

If you’re having a hard time and your mood is affecting your ability to deal with your day-to-day activities you can also give us a call on our 24-Hour Helpline where an advisor will be available to help you. Alternatively, you can also visit us at your local Universal Church.
