“When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit…” (Acts 2:1-4)
The Day of Pentecost is one of the most significant events in the history of the Christian faith. Originally a Jewish feast celebrated fifty days after Passover, Pentecost took on new meaning after the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. On this day, just as He had promised, the Holy Spirit came upon the first followers of Christ. This moment marked the birth of the Church and the beginning of a new era – one in which the Spirit of the Most High would dwell not only among His people but also within them.
At the Universal Church, we recognise the depth and significance of this extraordinary day. That’s why, for the past 50 days, we have been on a special journey of preparation – through prayer, fasting and seeking – to receive the fulfillment of the greatest promise made by the Lord Jesus: the Baptism with the Holy Spirit.
Many people search for peace, purpose and direction, but often come up empty. This is because real change doesn’t come from the outside; it begins within. When a person receives the Holy Spirit, they are no longer ruled by emotions or circumstances. Instead, they are guided by God Himself. This is why Jesus emphasised the necessity of the Holy Spirit in the lives of His followers.
In this faith, we invite you and your family to join us for the Sunday of Pentecost – a special day of life transformation and renewal. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to experience the same promise that was fulfilled in the lives of the first disciples.
If you are longing for inner peace, spiritual strength, or a deeper relationship with God, don’t miss this day. Join us at your nearest Universal Church at 10am (also at 7.30am). The Holy Spirit is the answer to the void that nothing else can fill. Prepare yourself and come in faith to receive the greatest gift God has to offer.
