Night Angels initiative to spread hope and save lives

Recently, volunteers from Night Angels in London, visited several bridges around the city for three consecutive Fridays to place reminders with messages of hope to those who are suffering.

This initiative came to show those who are hopeless that there is a solution to their problems.

Approximately 70 volunteers participated in this action with the aim of reaching the desperate.

We also know that many people attempt suicide by jumping off bridges. So, we understand the need to leave messages of faith and motivation across bridges so that when someone in need finds them, they realise that there is a solution to their problems,” commented Pastor Philip Pereira, responsible for the action.

On the notes, in addition to the message of hope, were the social media platforms where people can learn more about the project and the number they can contact to seek help 24 hours a day.

“I like being part of the Night Angel’s group. I still remember the time when I was lost and used to go to clubs and parties, and how I felt empty inside. Now, I can help people by offering advice and a word of comfort, especially to those who are homeless,” said volunteer Ashkhen Gulbekian.

In addition to actions like this, every Tuesday Night Angels takes to the streets of London to distribute food and hot drinks.
