Feast of the First Fruits

Feast of first fruits difference

From very early on in the history of mankind, God has sought people in this world to make a covenant with Him. Of all those He found, He made sure to make their lives different from everyone else’s.

For example, when the Israelites were slaves in Egypt, God sent ten plagues to afflict the Egyptians. The Israelites, who lived in the same land, were not affected at all. Each plague demonstrated that God was with the Israelites, and not with their captors. Those who believed were under God’s protection, and a distinction was made between those who served Him and those who did not. Even Pharaoh, who believed himself to be a god, had to recognise God’s sovereignty – he did not surrender his life to Him, but he saw His power.

This is just one of the many examples we find in the Bible where God protected and blessed His people, regardless of the circumstances surrounding them.

“Then you shall again discern between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.” (Malachi 3:18)

The God who did great things in the past is the same today and promises to do great things in our time. His words do not change and He wants to make a distinction between those who serve Him and those who do not.

We will be consecrating the tithers on Sunday 5 April, so that God may make a difference in the lives of the faithful. Due to the recent isolation recommendations due to the recent recommendations in place to safeguard against the COVID-19 pandemic, we urge you to prepare olive oil in your homes. We will pray together through our online services and consecrate it every day of the week, starting on Monday 30 March.

On Sunday 5 April, Bishop Alvaro, leader of the UCKG in the UK, will give you directions during the online meeting on how to utilise the oil which we will be blessing throughout the week.

When God calls us to return to Him (Malachi 3:10), it is so that He may make a difference in our lives in such a way that is clearly discernible from when we were unfaithful to Him. He invites us to return our tithes, so that through our obedience we may experience the fulfilment of His word.
