The Fórum Convention Center in Santiago del Estero, Argentina, welcomed more than 3,600 people on 4th June for the second edition of the Family Gathering, an event organised by the Universal Church to strengthen families through faith and spiritual support.
People from communities across the province came together for the gathering, which was made possible by the dedication of more than 300 volunteers. The event was led by Bishop Júlio and Viviane Freitas.
During the meeting, Bishop Júlio shared a message on the importance of God’s peace within the family. Reflecting on Matthew 11:28-30 and James 4:1, he explained that many conflicts begin when people allow emotions to take control rather than seeking God’s direction.
“More important than being right is having peace,” Bishop Júlio told those in attendance.
He explained that God’s peace is not the absence of problems, but a strength that enables people to make better decisions, overcome conflicts and face daily challenges without being driven by emotions.
The message resonated with many who had arrived carrying personal concerns and burdens. Throughout the event, participants received practical guidance on forgiveness, reconciliation and spiritual renewal, essential foundations for healthier relationships at home.
Among those attending was Celeste, who said she left feeling lighter than when she arrived.
“I came with many worries, but during the meeting I found comfort and direction,” she shared.
For Anderson, the Family Gathering was a completely new experience. Attending for the first time, he described the event as extraordinary and said the teachings he received left him feeling peaceful and happy.
Gonzalo also reflected on the impact of the message, explaining that it addressed exactly what he needed spiritually. “The main lesson for me was to put aside my own will and prioritise God’s will,” he said. “Everything I heard today was necessary. Now, putting what I learned into practice is my main goal.”
As the event came to a close, the Family Gathering once again highlighted the importance of faith, unity and God’s peace in building stronger families. As thousands returned home, they did so with practical lessons, renewed faith and a greater determination to apply what they had learned in their daily lives.
