On the morning of Monday 6 February, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit killing over 11 thousand civilians in Turkey and Syria combined. This figure is estimated to rise considerably.

The epicenter of the quake was in Kahramanmaraş, a town located close to the city of Gaziantep, in Turkey which borders Syria. However, the tremor could be felt in Israel, Cyprus, Lebanon, Syria, Greece, Jordan, Georgia, Armenia and Iraq.

On social media, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan pointed out: “I convey my best wishes to all our citizens who have been affected by the earthquake that took place in Kahramanmaraş and was felt in many parts of our country”.

It’s important to note that the Bible (Matthew 24:7) states signs of the end times with earthquakes listed, this to reflect on the Word of God and to take the necessary action to invest in the salvation of the soul – eternal life.
