On Friday 31st July, the Temple of Solomon in São Paulo celebrated its 12th anniversary. Over the past 12 years, millions of people have walked through its doors in search of hope, peace and a closer relationship with God. Many have seen their lives transformed, their families restored and a fresh beginning through faith.
Since its inauguration in 2014, the Temple has remained true to the purpose for which it was built: to be a House of Prayer for all nations.
As it marks this important milestone, let’s look back at some of the memorable events that have taken place so far throughout 2026.
Thousands chose to begin the New Year in prayer by attending the New Year’s Eve Night Vigil of the Power of Prayer.
The evening began with a concert featuring the Temple Choir, orchestra, the children’s choir and special guest Daniel Barzilay from Israel. Later, Bishop Renato Cardoso led the service, which included the Lord’s Supper before midnight, allowing everyone present to dedicate the year ahead to God.
The Temple continued to welcome people seeking spiritual growth throughout the first half of 2026.
January began with the Bible Knowledge Fair, where thousands of teenagers and their families gathered for a weekend dedicated to learning more about God’s Word.
Organised by the Universal Teen Force, the event featured interactive Bible exhibitions, music, book launches and opportunities for young people to strengthen their faith and make life-changing spiritual decisions.
January also saw one of the biggest youth gatherings of the year as the Universal Youth Force hosted Eternal Waves.
More than 160,000 young people took part across Brazil, with a further 15,000 joining from other countries. In São Paulo, the Temple’s esplanade was filled with young people from across the city and Greater São Paulo, united for an afternoon centred on faith, purpose and a relationship with God.
The event formed part of a simultaneous gathering held across all 26 Brazilian states, the Federal District and four other countries, highlighting the worldwide impact of the event.
In March, the Temple welcomed participants from 17 countries for the course, Diving into the Paths of Faith. More than 260 people travelled from countries including Guatemala, Peru, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, the United States, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay to take part in this unique spiritual experience. Despite coming from different cultures and backgrounds, everyone shared the same goal—to deepen their understanding of God’s Word and strengthen their faith.
On 30 April, the Temple hosted the 16th Wedding Celebration, bringing together more than 200 couples who renewed their vows in a ceremony dedicated to placing God’s blessing at the centre of their marriages. The event was also held across Brazil and internationally, involving more than 15,000 couples.
This year’s ceremony introduced several special moments, including the signing of marriage certificates at the Biblical Garden Memorial before the couples made their entrance into the Sanctuary.
Bishop Renato and Cristiane Cardoso joined the celebration, alongside performances from the Temple of Solomon Choir and the Universal Band.
More than simply celebrating marriage, the event highlighted the importance of establishing a marriage built upon a covenant with God.
On 19 July, the Temple welcomed around 2,000 people for the relaunch of Nothing to Lose – Volume 1: Moments of Conviction That Changed My Life.
As well as purchasing copies of the book and receiving autographs from the Temple bishops, visitors had the opportunity to explore an immersive exhibition dedicated to the life and ministry of Bishop Edir Macedo, founder of the Universal Church.
For 12 years, the Temple of Solomon has remained open to anyone seeking a genuine encounter with God and the opportunity to begin again through faith.
To commemorate this anniversary, last Friday’s service included a special moment of prayer led by 12 bishops, representing the 12 disciples chosen by Jesus. United in faith, they interceded for those seeking freedom from generational curses, as well as transformation, restoration and a new beginning.
