From the 28th – 30th August, the Universal Church reserved blood donation slots in a number of centres, giving its members the chance to take part in an important cause.
A number of people were donating for the first time and their anticipation was expressed in a multitude of ways, some people were nervous and others were excited. One person spoke to us and said, “I decided to donate blood because I know that it can save someone’s life. I was a bit scared at first as I hate needles but apart from that it was an amazing experience overall.”
Knowing that their donations could save lives, created a great atmosphere amongst those who attended.
The universal Church aims to save lives through multiple avenues and we encourage our members to play an active part in this. “When the church had announced they would be doing this, I just had to join. I was able to exercise my responsibilities and roles to society in a small way, as a young adult.” The overall feedback from the blood drive was highly positive.
“I felt so great after donating blood, better than I did before donating it, I will 100% do it again.”
From these comments you can see that the blood drive was a true success. We will continue to work with and for our communities in order to save souls.
