Life can sometimes present many setbacks that become heavy burdens in our lives. Closed doors, relationship and family issues, health problems, feelings of emptiness, and negative habits are just a few examples of factors that can lead people to lose their peace and fall into deep sadness. The mere mention of these struggles can be exhausting, can’t it? Even worse is to carry all this weight. But what if we told you that there is a way to be free from this heavy load?
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30). This wonderful invitation from the Lord Jesus is extended to all who are tired of bearing so many problems. He desires to lift the weight and pain from our lives and grant us peace. However, to take possession of this great blessing, one must actively seek the Lord and surrender their life completely to Him.
Perhaps until now, you have been fighting these battles alone, relying on your own strength, and accumulating more suffering. Yet, as we have seen, Jesus wants to relieve you of this burden. All He asks is that you acknowledge your need for Him and seek His presence. When we do this, the sorrow and exhaustion stemming from our worries and struggles are replaced by the relief and peace that comes from His salvation.
