Mulher se finge de cega por 28 anos

agradar a Deus, Escola da Fé, Olhos de Deus, um bom negócio,

Recently, a very unusual story appeared on some news portals. A Spaniard named Carla Jimenez, 57, allegedly pretended to be blind for 28 years just to avoid having to greet acquaintances on the street. The woman is so averse to human contact that even family members were deceived – including her husband. The story she told was that she had suffered an eye injury. Despite this, she put on perfect makeup and still watched TV. These and other attitudes aroused the distrust of many people, and she ended up confessing that, in reality, she could see normally.

”I’ve never been a very social person and by pretending to be blind I was able to get rid of a lot of social commitments that I didn’t want to go to”, said Carla to the Spanish website that publicized the case.

Now, she will have to respond in court for the lie, as she received government assistance for claiming to be disabled. The story was shared on several international websites, but many question whether the case is true or not. But in the world we live in, it’s not hard to believe it’s real.

The story helps us reflect on how people prefer to deceive rather than face their problems. Instead of committing a crime and hurting the people she loves, wouldn’t it be easier for her to have assumed her interaction difficulty? Many might not like his antisocial ways, but it would be less work than fooling them for so long. Definitely lying is not good business .

“But nothing is covered up that will not be discovered; nor hidden, that shall not be known.” Luke 12.2

Truth is the best option

The Word of God strongly condemns the act of lying and even compares the person who lies to the devil ( Read John 8.44 ). In God’s eyes , even deceiving in jest is a terrible thing: “Like a madman who releases sparks, arrows, and death, so is the man who deceives his neighbor, and says, I did it in jest.” Proverbs 26.18,19

In many moments it is difficult to be honest. The truth may embarrass or hurt at first, but it is the best choice to make. Lying destroys trust, stains relationships and undermines our Salvation. It may bring some ease and relief for a while, but it comes at a high price. So when tempted to lie, remember what the Bible teaches and choose to please God . There is nothing better than a clear conscience.

But if, even knowing the right thing to do, you still encounter difficulties, attend the School of Faith meetings , which take place every Wednesday, at our local Help Center .
