Tem dificuldade em controlar o impulso de comprar?

Gente de sucesso, qualidade de vida, tipo de pessoa,

Are you that kind of person who buys everything you see ahead? Did you find something beautiful and already want to buy it, even if you don’t need it? If so, most likely your house must be full of trinkets and your finances must always operate on the edge.

The modern lifestyle favors overconsumption. Every day, fashion dictates the must have (what you have to have) and always shows something different, making your entire wardrobe become outdated. By letting themselves be carried away by this, thousands of Brazilians are mired in debt. Successful people don’t spend for nothing, they don’t go out making thousands of installments when they could save money to buy in cash, they don’t spend more than they have and they control their credit card”, says writer J. Edington, author of the book “ 50 Shades to Success”.

For those who have this bad habit, the end of the year is the perfect time for the bills to go off the rails: they want to give gifts to everyone, travel, have and show that they have. “Of course you have to have things, eat and live well, enjoy the money you earn. However, you need to learn to plan and make smart choices for your money, precisely so that you can eat well, live well and live well for much longer”, he says.

If you are one of those who find themselves in this situation, J. Edington has some tips on how to get the accounts in order:

  • First, turn off the faucet. Don’t spend for nothing, don’t spend without thinking, don’t go through other people’s heads. All your expenses have to be conscious;
  • Then fix the leak. Write down all your expenses, even the coffee you had on the corner. Do this for a month, to understand where your money is going;
  • Make smart cuts. What do you need that little coffee on the corner for? If you are going to buy something, consider whether it is really important for your happiness and quality of life ;
  • Get rid of the installment addiction. If you don’t have money to buy it, don’t buy it. If you really need the item, save the money for the months needed and buy it. If you really can’t wait and you need to pay in installments, pay in the shortest possible time;
  • Don’t forget: be careful with your name. Do not lend it to anyone. People are often forced to pay for expenses that are not theirs, they get a dirty name in the square or are harmed because of those to whom they lent their names.

At the Congress for Success you learn these and other practical lessons on how to lead your professional and financial life. It takes place every Monday at your local Help Center .
