As we’re entering the second week of the Fast of Daniel, and for many, this is where the real battle begins. The initial excitement may have faded and now the challenge of consistency sets in.
Old friends suddenly message you out of nowhere, unexpected problems arise, or you feel the urge to check your social media “just for a minute.” These aren’t coincidences – they are carefully timed tactics meant to pull your attention away from the Most High.
Whenever you feel tempted to give in, remind yourself why you began this purpose. You’re not just avoiding entertainment – you’re on a mission to draw closer to God, know Him more deeply, and be filled with His Spirit. Every time you say no to a distraction, you’re saying yes to God.
Distractions may come, but they don’t have to win. You have the power to choose where your focus lies – and your choice today can open the door to an encounter with God that transforms your life forever.
In moments of silence and stillness, the voice of God becomes clearer. That’s why removing daily distractions is not about depriving yourself, but about making space for something greater. What we call “sacrifice,” God sees as a demonstration of faith and reverence – and He always honours that.
He sees every effort you make to stay focused on Him. Even when no one else notices your sacrifices, He does. Every moment you choose God over the world is like a seed being planted – and in due time, you will see the harvest.
So, keep pressing on. Stay strong and focused. Lean into prayer, ask Him for strength, meditate on His Word and let this journey reshape your priorities and reignite your spiritual hunger.
The best is yet to come!
