In an age of individualism and digital convenience, many people wonder, “Do I really need to go to church to connect with God?” It’s a valid question, especially considering that He is omnipresent and can hear our prayers whether we are at home, in the car, at work, and even in moments of quiet reflection.

The Bible also can (and must) be read privately, and we can seek God’s presence anywhere. However, despite this truth, the answer to the question is still a big yes. We do need to go to church, and not out of tradition or obligation, but because the church plays a vital role in a Christian’s spiritual life.

The church is more than just a building; it’s a sacred space set apart for fellowship with God. The Lord Jesus Himself attended the synagogue regularly and taught there. He also said, “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:20). This isn’t just a powerful Bible verse; it’s a promise.

When we gather with others in faith, God’s presence manifests in a special way that goes beyond our individual connection with Him. There is power in unity. Being around others of the same faith builds us up, helps us stay focused and reminds us that we are not alone on this journey.

During the Fast of Daniel, we’re seeking to hear God’s voice more clearly and draw closer to Him, and one of the most effective ways to do this is by attending church services as often as possible, as each service offers guidance and teachings based on the Sacred Scriptures.

The world can be filled with doubt and negativity, but when you step into the church, you enter an atmosphere of encouragement, strength and faith. Not only that, but you can seek the Spirit of the Living God, which enables you to carry this encouragement, strength and faith wherever you go.

Moreover, at the church, there are pastors and assistants available to offer prayer support and intercede for your life in times of need. So, although you can connect with God anywhere, don’t miss the great privilege you have of being able to come to His house, among His people, hear His Word and seek His presence.
