Estou louca ou sao os hormonios

a cada momento, em pequena quantidade,

One day you are happy; the other just thinks about crying. There are those days of great irritation and many others where your mood fluctuates from moment to moment . Strange as it may seem, it’s normal for women to go through these changes every month because of hormonal changes.

the progesterone

According to the gynecologist and president of the Endocrinology Committee of the Association of Gynecologists and Obstetricians of Minas Gerais (Sogimig), Marcia Ferreira, hormonal fluctuations constantly interfere with a woman’s mood, libido and generate various physical symptoms. But it is in the pre-

period that they most feel the negative aspects of these changes. “The elevation of progesterone in the blood causes irritability, depressed mood, easy crying, drowsiness, decreased libido, pain and swelling in the breasts and legs”, says the specialist. Progesterone is also attributed to the manifestations of the so-called premenstrual tension (PMS).

the estrogen

Estrogen, another female hormone, is responsible for making women more willing and with the feeling of being alert, more active. It is he who remains at low after menopause.

“Over the years, the woman’s eggs decrease and, with that, there are changes in the duration of the menstrual cycle (which becomes irregular). It also decreases the concentration of estrogen and this causes the appearance of hot flushes (perimenopausal hot flashes), sleep disturbances and discouragement”, she says.

the testosterone

In addition to progesterone and estrogen, testosterone, the male hormone, is also present in women’s bodies, but in small amounts . “It is especially important for promoting a sense of well-being, physical disposition and increased libido.”

How not to go crazy

First, it is important to understand that these changes in a woman’s body are normal. However, if they disturb you at work, in your relationship with your children and husband and make you feel bad, do not neglect medical follow-up. Doing so is not a lack of faith, but acting wisely.

And know that it is possible to control some negative symptoms. Try to take some precautions. Controlling your weight and practicing physical exercise and activities that take you away from the stress of everyday life can positively interfere with your cycle. The doctor also recommends that women eat properly, in a balanced way, and avoid excess sweets and caffeine.
