The Cry of Humiliation in the Night of the Soul

cry out to God, preparation for the Fast of Daniel, The Word of God,

The Cry of Humiliation in the Night of the Soul

In 1 Corinthians 1:2 Apostle Paul wrote a letter to the church saying:

“To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours.”

The purpose of this letter was for all those called by God to sanctify themselves. The Greek term “Hagiazo” translated to “sanctify” in English is defined as “to separate for possession and use of God.” Those who were chosen were called to holiness, that is to keep themselves away from all kinds of corruption and sinful inclinations. Only those who stay pure and obedient to the word of God keep their spiritual identity united to the Lord Jesus and that is why He can use them for His purposes.

On Wednesday, 6 April, we will have the Cry of Humiliation in the Night of the Soul, in preparation for the Fast of Daniel. Perhaps you have made poor decisions that have distanced you from God, or you find yourself struggling with negative feelings – such as pride, grudges, bad eyes, etc. – that undermine your communion with Him.

We invite you to bring a sackcloth to your local Universal Church at 7.30pm (also at 7am, 10am and 3pm). During the service, we will wear the sackcloth as a sign of humbleness and cry out to God, so that He can remove any thoughts and feelings that may be detrimental to our spiritual lives and as a consequence, He will pour out His Spirit upon us.

“Gird yourselves and lament, you priests; wail, you who minister before the altar; come, lie all night in sackcloth, you who minister to my God…” (Joel 1.13).

Don’t miss this great opportunity to strengthen your connection with God.
