We all can agree that the only predictable thing about the British weather is its unpredictability. We can see the weather change drastically from bright sunny morning to a typical London foggy afternoon and a chilly night. Sometimes it seems as though we have all four seasons within one day! Therefore, unless you are planning to move to a tropical country, the only reasonable thing you can do is: be prepared!
It’s no different in life. We have just started off a new year and despite all the celebrations and good wishes for 2022, the future still seems quite uncertain. We can’t predict what challenges and problems we will face ahead but we can be ready for when they come…
The Bible speaks about a wise man “who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.” (Matthew 7:24-25).
He was considered wise because he prepared himself for the unpredictable by investing in a solid foundation for his house. The rock represents the Word of God. Likewise, when we invest in our relationship with Him, our lives are grounded in His certain and steady Word, which assures us that He will protect us and guide us towards our victories.
