For some people, it’s simply the need to survive. They set goals based on maintaining what they already have. For example, someone who doesn’t like their job but doesn’t look for a better one, simply keeps their job for a guaranteed pay-cheque.
However, God promised us abundant life – and not only financially, but in all areas. Of course, we shouldn’t be anxious and consistently unsatisfied, but we need to evolve and achieve a life that reflects the greatness of God.
When we are motivated by necessity, we tend to get stuck in our comfort zone. But, when our motivation comes from God, we have a partnership with Him, and so we are always evolving.
If you notice that you have been motivated only by necessity, seek motivation from God. Ask Him for direction and set goals – both physical and spiritual. You will see that once you change your mindset, you will broaden your vision to greater things and you will be surprised at what you can achieve before the year is out.
The good news is that you don’t need to do it alone. At the Universal Church, we are doing the ‘100 Day Challenge’ for those who want to partner up with God to achieve total change by the end of this year. Join us!
