The Sunday of the Despised

Despised
The Lord Jesus knows the pain of contempt, He understands who is experiencing rejection. If you’re facing this situation, know that He lived it first-hand.

When the Son of God was sacrificed, the Bible described Him this way: “He was despised, and most rejected among men, a man of sorrows, and acquainted with sufferings; and as one from whom men hid their faces, He was despised, and we took no account of Him.” (Isaiah 53:3)

Bishop Macedo, was despised his whole life, from a young boy and wanting to serve in the church he attended, he was rejected and was not even considered to help open the door to welcome people. No-one thought there was a future for him.

However, God says:

“But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty.” (1 Corinthians 1:27)

Our God has a history of taking those who are despised and giving them a future.

This Sunday, a special prayer will be made for all those who have been despised. There are many people who have been despised in jobs, relationships and even by their own family.

God is reaching out to you through this invitation, therefore, this is an opportunity for those who believe in the power of God. So, all those who are being rejected, despised, cast aside, those that no one else believes in, you will have your day, your turn for God to transform your life and turn this situation around. On this date, the despised will be honoured; the rejected, accepted; those who suffer, relieved; the ignored, remembered by God.

Join us this Sunday, as Bishop Macedo will be used by the Holy Spirit to bring a word of faith to the despised.
