It was the Lord Jesus Himself who spoke the following words to His apostles and those who listened to Him:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“The greatest among you shall be your servant. And he that exalteth himself shall be humbled; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.” <\/span>(Matthew 13.11:12)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

And that is the message that the American actor Jim Caviezel made a point of transmitting to his fans during an interview about his new film, \u201cPaul, the Apostle of Christ\u201d, which is scheduled for release in early 2018.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe name ‘Saul’ means ‘the great one.’ <\/span>And the name ‘Paul’, with the change of just one letter, means ‘the little one’. <\/span>In order to become great in the <\/span><\/span>eyes of God,<\/span><\/span><\/a> we need to become very small\u201d, declared Caviezel in a promotional video for the film.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The actor has already played the Lord Jesus himself, in \u201cThe Passion of the Christ\u201d, a work directed by Mel Gibson in 2004, and, this time, he will give life to the disciple Lucas. <\/span>The main character of the film will be played by James Faulkner, known worldwide for his performances in hits such as \u201cBridget Jones’s Diary\u201d and \u201cGame of Thrones\u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Unfortunately, today’s society preaches exactly the opposite of biblical teaching and there are few people who, like Caviezel, convey the message of humility. <\/span>In his blog, <\/span><\/span>Bishop Edir Macedo<\/span><\/span><\/a> explains that humility \u201cis the basis of the character of God and of those who were born of Him. <\/span>Pride is the basis of the character of the devil and of those born of the flesh.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Aiming to become great among men, many people distance themselves from the teachings left by the Lord Jesus and, consequently, by God. <\/span>Many, more and more, want to be exalted before humanity. <\/span>However, they forget what Jesus said in that same chapter of the book of Matthew:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“You, however, do not want to be called Rabbi, for one is your Teacher, namely, the Christ, and you are all brothers.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

And call no one on earth your father, for one is your Father, who is in heaven.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Neither call yourselves masters, for one is your Master, who is Christ.” (Matthew 23:8:10)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Therefore, Bishop Edir Macedo suggests that each person carry out, <\/span><\/span>every day<\/span><\/span><\/a> , an assessment of their attitudes during the day:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cEach one of us needs, on a daily basis, to reflect on our attitudes \u2013 with regard to our relationship with the people around us, at home, at work, at school, at church, in short, in the places we go, regardless of our social position or our position within the church \u2013 to see if we are exercising true Christianity.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
