This scene may be very familiar to you: after the service, a queue of people asking the pastor for more prayers forms. <\/span>Many of them will ask for something that was already determined during the meeting. <\/span>Why does it happen?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The reasons can be several, but the main one, according to Bishop Edir Macedo, is the need that many have to rely on someone else’s faith. <\/span>They think that the prayer they say is not so powerful and that they need something more. <\/span>\u201cThis attitude of depending on someone shows that you don’t believe in God. <\/span>In fact, you believe in the pastor’s faith and that his belief will benefit you. <\/span>But what is easier: asking him to <\/span><\/span>ask God<\/span><\/span><\/a> for you, or go directly to the Lord?\u201d, asked the bishop during a live message on Facebook.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Cristiane Cardoso participated in the broadcast and added another reason why many insist on the attitude. <\/span>\u201cSometimes, the person does not feel worthy of talking to God, he thinks that the pastor has more faith, more communion with Him, and that is why he will be heard. <\/span>The devil is the one who blows these ideas away from God and puts other people between you and Him.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Consequences<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

When a Christian is dependent on others, he is being religious and harming <\/span><\/span>himself<\/span><\/span><\/a> , since his life is at a standstill because he does not invest in the development of faith and relationship with God. <\/span>\u201cThe person cannot <\/span><\/span>solve his problems<\/span><\/span><\/a> , because he does not use the right he has to approach God. <\/span>No problem is solved that way, you cannot invest in feelings, nor in dependence on people, but in the <\/span><\/span>relationship with God\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/a> , warned Cristiane.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

How to change?<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Thoughts and attitudes like these are only overcome through faith in <\/span><\/span>God’s Word<\/span><\/span><\/a> . <\/span>Is written:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAnd whatever you ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.\u201d <\/span>(John 14:13)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOvercome the feeling of not being worthy by believing and affirming that you have this right, in the name of Jesus, as it is written. <\/span>Thus, you use faith and please God\u201d, adds Cristiane.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
