Residents of the province of British Columbia (Canada) and the state of Alaska (United States) are alarmed by the sudden and unexpected rise of the Alsek River. <\/span>In a short time, the river became between 60 and 70 times its natural size, which can cause a major imbalance in the local ecosystem and even some natural tragedies, such as floods.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

According to a study published by the journal\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Nature Geoscience<\/span><\/span><\/em> , the reason for such growth is another surprising episode in the region: the drought of the River Slims. <\/span>This large river, which in its widest parts could extend for up to 150 meters, dried up in just 4 days, a result of the so-called \u201criver piracy\u201d \u2013 when one river steals the water from another. <\/span>This can be caused by various natural reasons, such as erosion, but there was no record of the phenomenon for thousands of years.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In fact, the so-called “river piracy” did not occur by nature’s will, but by the inconsequential action of man. <\/span>Studies point out that global warming caused the intense melting of the Kaskawulsh glacier, diverting the course of several rivers and rapids in the region. <\/span>Thus, Slims practically died, causing incalculable damage to biodiversity and local residents. <\/span>On the other hand, also causing many problems, Alsek started to scare the inhabitants, exemplifying the biblical passage that states:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAnd there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars; <\/span>and in the land anguish of the nations, in perplexity by the roaring of the sea and the waves. <\/span>Men fainting from terror, in anticipation of the things that will come upon the world; <\/span>because the virtues of heaven will be shaken. <\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong> Luke 21.25-26<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The roar of the waves of the Alsek River distresses not only Canadians and Americans, but all nations, who see man’s behavior destroying the world. <\/span>The quoted biblical passage announces the Apocalypse through the mouth of the <\/span><\/span>Lord Jesus himself<\/span><\/span><\/a> , revealing that <\/span><\/span>\u201cthen they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud, with power and great glory\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong> and guiding: <\/span><\/span>\u201cNow, when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong>Luke 21.27-28<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

During an edition of the <\/span><\/span>Study of the Apocalypse, which takes place at the Temple of Solomon every Sunday<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/a> , Bishop Renato Cardoso stated that if there is one thing the scientific community agrees on, it is that planet Earth has an expiration date. <\/span>“Astronomers, biologists, physicists, geologists, nuclear scientists, agronomists, among others, project the possibilities and probabilities of events that could definitively end life on Earth”, highlighted the bishop.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Most of these possibilities do not originate in nature itself, but in the action of man on the planet. <\/span>The global warming that caused the Kaskawulsh melt is one of them. <\/span>The bishop himself gives further examples, such as the threats of nuclear war, plagues, disease and famine, food shortages, water shortages, environmental changes, natural and ecological disasters.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

All these problems<\/span><\/span><\/a> are part of a sequence of mistakes made by man thousands of years ago, since Adam and Eve started this path of destruction.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In his <\/span><\/span>book \u201cAre We All Children of God?\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/a>, Bishop Edir Macedo explains that the moment Adam and Eve refused to obey God in order to render obedience to the devil, this accursed kingdom arose. <\/span>Consequently, evil became their lord. <\/span>“From that time, then, the reign of darkness began. Because of this, nature rebelled against human beings and the earth no longer supplied the needs of either man or animals.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This trail of disasters on the planet, caused by man, will get worse until the Lord Jesus returns to Earth, to bring His definitive Peace.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Restoration<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWith man’s rebellion against the Creator, nature ceased to be a partner of its inhabitants, establishing disorder and evil on the face of the Earth\u201d, says Bishop Edir Macedo. <\/span>But God, in His infinite mercy, sent His Son to announce the possibility of man’s redemption, even if the planet, as we know it, is lost. <\/span>Furthermore, <\/span><\/span>God Himself will restore His Kingdom<\/span><\/span><\/a> from him, where redeemed man can live eternally.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
