“I don’t think it’s natural to be a monogamous person.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The opinion is from Scarlett Johansson, one of the most admired actresses in Hollywood today, known for roles such as Black Widow, from the \u201cAvengers\u201d franchise, and Cristina, from \u201cVicky Cristina Barcelona\u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Scarlett, 32, is the mother of a 2 and a half year old son and has just divorced French journalist Romain Dauriac. <\/span>This is <\/span><\/span>the second divorce<\/span><\/span><\/a> for the actress, who was previously married to actor Ryan Reynolds.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n In an interview with <\/span><\/span>Playboy<\/span><\/span><\/em> magazine in the United States, published last February, she stated:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI think the idea of \u200b\u200bmarriage is very romantic. <\/span>It’s a beautiful idea, and the practice of it can be a very beautiful thing. <\/span>I don’t think it’s natural to be a monogamous person. <\/span>Maybe I’m ‘pinched’ by this, but I think it’s a lot of work. <\/span>It’s a lot of work. <\/span>And the fact that this is so much work for so many people, for everyone, proves that it doesn’t come naturally.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The actress reveals that she respects a lot those who assume this commitment, which she herself has previously assumed, but believes that it is against human instinct to maintain an exclusive relationship with someone.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt’s a beautiful responsibility, but it’s a responsibility,\u201d she says.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Commitment<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Certainly, marriage is a responsibility. <\/span>However, the Bible disagrees regarding the impossibility of being monogamous. <\/span>In fact, the Lord Jesus himself said: <\/span><\/span>\u201c <\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong>You have heard that it was said to them of old, You shall not commit adultery. <\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong>But I say to you, that whoever looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong>Matthew 5.27,28<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n God would not give man a commitment that he could not fulfill. <\/span>On the contrary, when He created the human being, He aimed exactly at maintaining this commitment and, in this way, man strengthening woman and vice versa.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt is quite clear from the story of how it all began that God created man and woman <\/span><\/span>to serve one another<\/span><\/span><\/a> . <\/span>The man was called husband, which means ‘caregiver’\u201d, says writer Renato Cardoso. <\/span>\u201cThe woman, in turn, was called by God her husband’s ‘helper’.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n For him, there is no way to go wrong in the interpretation. <\/span>“God’s idea for marriage was for the man to serve the woman and vice versa.
