Imagine a Japanese garden with a white telephone booth nestled among the bushes. <\/span>The device is for anyone who wants to call relatives and friends\u2026 as long as they are dead.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n That’s right, you didn’t read it wrong. <\/span>The phone booth ( <\/span><\/span>picture on the side<\/span><\/span><\/strong> ) is used by residents of the city of Otsuchi, Japan, who wish to speak with loved ones who have passed away.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The idea was conceived by Itaru Sasaki, 71 years old, who, after <\/span><\/span>working for many years<\/span><\/span><\/a> as a metallurgist, today works as a garden designer.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Initially, the cabin was just a decoration item. <\/span>However, in March 2011, a part of northwest Japan was hit by an earthquake and tsunami.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Sasaki says that, with the catastrophe, about 18 thousand people died. <\/span>The feeling of loss he felt at the time was mixed with the regret of knowing that his cousin had been diagnosed with cancer in 2009. With that, Sasaki imagined that the survivors would like to \u201cconnect\u201d the feelings with those who died . <\/span>From then on, the cabin was open to the public, for anyone who wanted to \u201ccommunicate\u201d with the dead.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n What does <\/span><\/span>God’s Word<\/span><\/span><\/a> say about talking to the dead?<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n The Bible makes it clear that this earthly, material life happens only once. <\/span>After that, there are only two ways: the <\/span><\/span>Kingdom of God<\/span><\/span><\/a> or hell. <\/span>And there is no free passage between those who still inhabit this world and those who are gone. <\/span>We can observe this in the following biblical passage:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAnd as it is appointed for men to die once, but after that the judgment\u2026\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong> Hebrews 9:27<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
