With the arrival of winter, we welcome our seasonal outreach project - the Give Warmth Appeal - an initiative we started a few years ago, providing the homeless, and those living in shelters and hostels with provisions to keep them warm during the cold winter months. Items such as blankets, socks, gloves, hats, jumpers, jackets etc. are collected and then distributed to those who are most in need of them.

This year, however, will be slightly different as we extend the kindness of the festive season to various other groups of people in our local areas. In response to the coronavirus pandemic and the toll it has taken on our communities, we will be extending our giving to children in hospitals, the children of inmates, the elderly in care homes, and NHS staff to name a few.

From preparing letters, to picking out gifts, to conducting video conferences, we will endeavour to bring as much warmth to as many people as we can this December. The 2020 Give Warmth Appeal includes:

  • Gifts being prepared for children in hospitals and hospices
  • Gifts being prepared for the children of inmates
  • Gifts being prepared for the elderly in Care Homes
  • Christmas Day meal at our Soup Kitchens for the homeless
  • Video conference performances for Care Homes that cannot be visited due to the Pandemic
  • Distribution of clothing items, including blankets, hats and scarves to the homeless on Christmas Day

and more!

Gift Aid is a scheme by the Government to assist all charities. If you are a UK taxpayer paying the basic rate of 20% the UCKG can reclaim the tax on any donation you give; that is an extra 25p on every £1 you donate – at no extra cost to you!

I am a current UK taxpayer and understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year, it is my responsibility to pay any difference.

You can cancel the declaration at any time by notifying the charity in writing to: Gift Aid Department, UCKG Office Suites, 24 Coleridge Road, Finsbury Park, London N4 3NP or email: Giftaid@uckg.org.
