We fought so badly that I was banned for a year. After that, everything fell apart—my husband moved out, my kids’ school performance suffered, and I lost all hope in marriage.

Trying to escape my pain I delved in to drinking, smoking, and partying. But no matter what I did, I felt empty. I wanted to escape my misery and saw no way out. One day, as I passed the Universal Church I remembered attending a service there with my mother-in-law. Something urged me to go inside. Little did I know that this was the beginning of my life shift. It wasn’t service time, but the pastor spoke to me and invited me to attend the meetings. From then on, I kept going. Seeing the words Jesus Christ is the Lord brought me to tears because I felt so disconnected from Him. The messages and prayers helped me realise I needed to change—to bury my past and start over.I decided to get baptised in water. As I truly repented from all my wrongdoings and surrendered my life to God, I felt His presence fill the emptiness inside me. From then on, I found the willpower to put an end to my bad habits, and gradually, my sadness and despair faded. I found peace, joy, and the strength to fight for my marriage. Slowly, my husband started coming back. We talked, decided to try again, and after 20 years of marriage, we renewed our vows.

Today, our relationship is strong. We faced so many struggles, but now, I finally have the happy and blessed family I always dreamed of. If I had known this would be the place to teach me the tools needed for a complete life shift, I would have come earlier.” – Camia SIlva

I grew up admiring how my mum cared for my dad and our family.
