On Saturday, 19th November, the Liberty Event was hosted in the Universal Church in Wood Green.

This was another event to help showcase how the groups are available to help their local community. Present were the following:

  • Patient Care Group – on the day offered blood pressure test and tips for healthy eating habits
  • Caleb Group – pampering consisting of hand massages and nail painting
  • CBC/UTF – offered face painting and games
  • VYG – entertained the attendees with a dance performance
  • Beat Depression – gave information on how to get support to beat depression
  • Night Angels – team gave out toiletries and offered haircuts to those who needed it
  • ROD (Rescue of Dignity) – offered their advice to those who may have relatives that are incarcerated
  • Food Bank – our regular food bank operated for the public

The attendees present were able to know about the event through leaflets that were given out and from beneficiaries that regularly attended the weekly food bank.

Attendees were very grateful for the blood pressure checks followed by advice from the registered nurses.

It was a day that we as a community came together, and as a centre we were able to help our community mostly in hard times, such as the increase in the cost of living and now our community is aware of our services.
