Liberty event in Leeds
The Universal Church branch in Leeds held our Liberty event last Saturday, 11th June. Our Liberty events are a great chance to show the community what the Universal Church branch in any given area does to help locally.

During the event, held from 11am until 1pm,  the Patient Care Group was present on the day and they offered blood pressure tests and nutritional advice for all. The Rescue of Dignity group were also present and were able to offer support for former inmates in order to prevent re-offending.

Volunteers from our Beat Depression team were ready to have one-to-ones for those who may be battling with depression and the Caleb group offered pampering sessions for all those over the ages of 55.

The Victory Youth Group (VYG) treated us to a wonderful dance performance, and there was also a face-painting station for the youngest attendees.

We’d like to give a special thanks to all the local restaurants that donated food for the event. There was a variety of things to choose from, to cater to all dietary needs.

Our special guests that attended the Liberty event were Councillor Sharon Hamilton, Mayor Robert W Gettings MBE JP, Lady Mayoress Lesley Gettings and Dave Paterson from the Food Alliance network all of whom really enjoyed the event.

Generally, the feedback on the day was overwhelmingly positive, everyone agreed there was a great atmosphere and smiles all around.

We will strive to keep making a positive impact in our local communities.
