Let the small things go

pray for peace,

Let the small things go

Do you argue with your brother because he chews his food too loud, or, do you fight with your wife because she doesn’t use a tea coaster? Are you forever disagreeing over small things with your family and do you almost immediately realise it wasn’t worth the animosity?

You cannot pray for peace when you yourself make war. In a family, most, people are completely different from each other. We can either see this as a way to learn or as a problem. Why not learn from one another and grow at the same time. Instead of resisting our differences we should see them as an opportunity to better ourselves.

Jesus said “Blessed are the peace makers” (Matthew 5:9). Make a choice to bring peace to your loved ones. It’s okay to let the small things go. Pick your battles wisely and encourage others to do the same. Not everything is worth a fight, some things just don’t matter that much. Let go!

This Sunday at 10am we will have the Blessing of the Family at all Universal Churches. Bishop James and Mrs Helena will be at the church entrance of the Rainbow Theatre from 9am laying hands on family photographs to pass on the blessing that they have received.

Don’t miss this opportunity and invite your family to attend too, so that they can join your faith in prayer. For more information call or WhatsApp us on 020 7686 6000.
