Book Launch
The Hebrew word ‘Hineni’ was the prophet Isaiah’s response when the Lord asked “who shall I send and who will go for us?” (Isaiah 6:8). The translation of this expression in English is “Here I am.”

When the announcement was made that the founder of the Universal Church, Bishop Edir Macedo was releasing his new book ‘Here I am, Lord,’ hundreds of Universal Church members saw this as a necessity to invest in the most important and most valuable thing that they have which is their soul. Last Saturday was the day to finally exchange their ticket for the book.

A total of 1,035 people excitedly queued at the Rainbow Theatre, our headquarters in order to redeem their book. Prima Kazooba, from Stratford said: “It’s very exciting yet overwhelming to see just how many people are here for the book launch. It’s a pleasure and a privilege to be a part of this memorable moment and though the queue is pretty long it feels so surreal to be here as I have never attended one of Bishop’s book signings before.”

2F9A8138The event started at 3pm with an opening word by Bishop Carlos, who oversees the Portuguese church in the UK encouraging all attendees to ask the Holy Spirit to guide them as they read the book and if anyone was going to give a copy to a friend or family member to pray beforehand, for them also to be touched by God. Pastor Daniel, who oversees the Universal Church in Kilburn was also present on the day alongside Bishop Carlos making personalised signings in every book – English, Spanish and Portuguese.

One month ago, 18-year-old Julian Budac was walking past the Rainbow Theatre, intrigued about what took place inside decided to go in and present at the book launch he states: “I came here today hoping to be enlightened by my first book by Bishop Macedo. I think the book will show me clearly what God wants from me, in order to serve Him better. Even though I am new to the church, I find the experience amazing.”

As instrumental music softly played in the background it was overshadowed by groups of friends making the most of their time and soaking in the atmosphere by taking videos documenting their journey from the queue to receiving their book.9W1A7315 scaled

Amongst the different activities taking place, one lady who particularly drew attention was Ms Riley from Hammersmith, who immediately immersed herself in the book as soon as it reached her hands. When interviewed she expressed that it was a blessing to be there and through the book she believes she will receive the spiritual guidance she needs to help her on her journey of faith and that is why she was so excited to read the book and couldn’t wait.

If you were not able to get your hands on a copy of the book, it is now available online at www.christianbooks-plus.com or at a Universal Church near you.
