Helping others is our calling

weekly Soup Kitchen,

Helping others is our calling

At the Universal Church we are well aware of people’s needs, we see the real struggle people are going through, the hardship some of our members and the wider community are facing; which is why in some selected branches we offer a weekly Food Bank or Soup Kitchen for those who need it.

We believe in offering a welcoming and friendly and non-judgemental environment because before anything, the people we serve deserve dignity and understanding.

Our Food Banks are open from 11am and until 1pm every Saturday in our participating branches: Plaistow, Edmonton, Stamford Hill, Croydon, Hackney, Stratford, Tooting, Nottingham, Sheffield, Lozells, Bullring, Wood Green, Hammersmith and Newcastle (for full addresses, please visit uckg.org/addresses). Every week, our volunteers prepare handy packages with different items the night before to make it even easier for users.

Our Soup Kitchens also operate every Saturday, from 11am until 11pm. Participating branches provide soup, bread and light refreshments to anyone in need. At the moment, we have eight branches that operate a weekly Soup Kitchen: Finsbury Park, Catford, Kilburn, Peckham, Leeds, Manchester, Peterborough and Glasgow. Full addresses available at uckg.org/addresses.

Our latest figures show that 66,589 people have benefitted from our Food Banks, handing out 67,605 food parcels while 20,342 fresh bowls of soup have been served at our Soup Kitchen. We are committed to helping our local communities wherever our Universal Church branches are based.

If you would like more information on our Food Banks, please don’t hesitate to give us a call on: 020 7686 6000.
