Defiance of Faith

chosen people, David, faith and perseverance, God, Goliath, the army of God, UCKG,

“For who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?” (1 Samuel 17:26)

David could not understand how a giant like Goliath could insult the Israelite army – God’s chosen people – in the way that he did. What Goliath failed to realise was that by defying the army of God, he was defying God Himself! To David, this was unacceptable. Therefore, his revolt was fuelled to take down the giant.

What ‘giant’ are you facing in life that is defying you to your face and refusing to back down? It’s time to take it down! Today, the giants we face can vary from financial issues to health-related problems or even problems in our hearts and minds. We become so wound up by the negativity caused by these ‘giants’ that we forget that with faith and perseverance, we can fight them.

On Sunday, 12 March at 10am (also at 7.30am), you can take the first step towards knocking down this giant. You are welcome to bring a voluntary challenging offering and write down what your giant is on the paper provided in the envelope for this campaign. Through your faith, you will see the end of the ‘giant’ in your life.

You can collect your envelope at your local UCKG.
