3 ways to react to problems

  1. You panic

You see yourself in a situation and you start crying. You then call a friend to tell her the bad news, and update your Facebook status, letting everyone know about your state of mind at that moment.

It’s normal for one to have an emotional reaction to an unexpected problem but, in the case of those who “panic”, this reaction only persists. Sadness sets off anxiety, which soon leaves the person feeling depressed and they begin to complain and doubt everything. Then, the consequences of their reaction follow quickly. They no longer sleep well at night, they start taking sedatives to be able to cope; they lose their appetite, or start eating uncontrollably and many other problems develop as a consequence of the first reaction – panic.

  1. You give everything into God’s hands

The moment you receive negative information you are saddened, but you make a prayer right away, thinking: “I don’t know how to solve this problem, so I’m going to hand it over to God and wait for Him to solve it for me.” “He is seeing everything I’m going through and He will do something about it soon.”

As a good Christian, you think that it is what He wants you to do as a way of showing your trust in Him but this is nothing more than laziness in disguise!

Sometimes we think the problem is out of our reach and that all we can do is trust and God will take us out of it. Even when we have a right to something that is in the law, we need to make use of it in order to benefit from it! God’s promises work in the same way. Most of the time when we have this reaction, we are being lazy to act our faith.

The only reaction that really brings a solution to the problem is the following:

  1. You act intelligently

You may even be sad, upset and in some cases, confused, but only at first. You put your faith into practice straight away, thinking, “No problem! I will not let this go on. I’m going to fight by starting to look for ways to change this right now.” Unfortunately, very few people have this reaction!

So, if you want to conquer, you have to face the problem. You can’t give up on your goals or be emotional about every difficulty. Trusting in God is believing that He is leading in every way but, for this to happen, you need to follow Him!

Amen Bishop, I used to be emotional also when tackling a problem, after all I thought it was the right reaction, but after reading this message I now know that I have to tackle with intelligent faith.
